DIY Lace Up Boots

so I have the worlds largest calf muscles. Therefore, finding boots that fit are a pain in the butt.
So, I decided to make them lace up instead.
I asked for and recieved a pair of knee length Hunter boots for Christmas.   They could not fit around my calf.

You will need:

  • Grommet tool. They can be found on eBay. And if you’re crafty, you will find many other uses for it.
  • Knife
  • Marker
  • Grommets
  • Ribbon
  • Tape measure or ruler
  • Boots

I start by banking an incision with my scalpel tool about 9 inches down the seams.

The inserting if the grommet was hard. Especially if the boots are extra thick. I found that it was much easier to make a hold with a scissor or knife and using the scalpel to cut away until you had a big enough hole.

I used a black market to mark where I wanted to put the holes.    I kept repeating the hole making process until I had this:
And because I couldn’t decide I have different color laces.
